Track the health of your community at a glance using key performance indicators and timeseries charts.

What the Dashboard Shows

When you open the Dashboard, you see a personalized greeting and a set of KPI cards summarizing recent community activity. Below the cards, timeseries charts plot trends over the selected time period. Use these tools together to spot growth patterns, identify quiet periods, and take action where engagement is dropping.

KPI Metrics

Each KPI card displays a single number for the selected period. Click a card to jump to the related section of your admin portal.

  • Site Visitors - The number of unique visitors to your community site or embedded community site during the period. This counts distinct visitor tokens, so repeat visits from the same person are not double-counted.
  • New Prospects - The number of prospects who joined your community during the period. A rising count here means your community is attracting new interest.
  • Active Conversations - The number of conversations that were either started or had new messages during the period. This includes both newly created conversations and existing ones with recent activity.
  • Active Advocates - The number of advocates who were either newly activated or sent at least one message during the period. This metric reflects how engaged your advocate base is.
  • New Applications - The number of advocate applications submitted during the period. This card only appears if advocate applications are enabled for your community.

Selecting a Time Period

Use the period dropdown in the upper-right corner of the Dashboard to change the date range for all KPI cards and charts. The available options are grouped into three categories:

Rolling Periods

  • Last 30 Days (default) - The most recent 30 calendar days
  • Last 7 Days - The most recent 7 calendar days

Current Periods

  • This Month - From the first day of the current month through today
  • This Quarter - From the first day of the current quarter through today
  • This Year - From January 1 of the current year through today

Previous Periods

  • Last Month - The entire previous calendar month
  • Last Quarter - The entire previous calendar quarter
  • Last Year - The entire previous calendar year

Full History

  • All Time - From the date your community was created through today

When you select a period, the page reloads and every metric updates to reflect that date range.

Timeseries Charts

Below the KPI cards, two charts display trends over time:

  • Site Visitors - A line chart plotting unique visitor counts across the selected period
  • New Conversations - A line chart plotting newly created conversations across the selected period

Switch between charts using the tabs above the chart area. The horizontal axis adjusts its granularity based on the period you select:

  • Month, Last 7 Days, and Last 30 Days show data points per day
  • Quarter and Year show data points per week
  • All Time shows data points per month

Using KPIs for Community Health

Review your Dashboard regularly to understand how your community is performing:

  1. Check Site Visitors and New Prospects together. If visitors are high but prospects are low, consider adjusting your calls to action or community site content.
  2. Compare Active Advocates with Active Conversations. A healthy community has advocates who are regularly engaging in conversations.
  3. Watch New Applications for trends after outreach campaigns or events to measure their effectiveness.
  4. Use the period selector to compare the current month or quarter against the previous one. Look for upward or downward trends that warrant attention.
  5. If a metric drops unexpectedly, switch to Last 7 Days to isolate whether the change is recent or part of a longer pattern.
