Customizing Map Pin Colors

Customize how advocates appear on your community map by setting pin colors at the community level or per tag.

Default Pin Color

Set a default color for all advocate pins:

1. Go to Settings > Branding > Map
2. Enter a hex color code for Default Pin Color (e.g., #e53b2a)
3. Click Update Pin Colors

Unmatched Pin Color

Set a different color for advocates that don’t match the current filter criteria:

1. Go to Settings > Branding > Map
2. Enter a hex color code for Unmatched Pin Color (e.g., #9ca3af)
3. Click Update Pin Colors

Tag-Based Colors

Override the default color for specific groups of advocates using tags:

1. Create or edit a tag in Settings > Tags
2. Set a color for the tag
3. Enable Override Default Pin Color
4. Save

Advocates with that tag will show the tag’s color on the map.

Use Cases

• Different advocate types - Sales team in blue, support in green
• Language groups - Spanish speakers in one color
• Experience levels - Premium advocates highlighted

Multiple Tags

An advocate’s pin uses their custom pin color if one is set on their profile. Otherwise it uses the color of their first tag that overrides pin colors, or the default pin color if they have none.

If an advocate has multiple tags that override pin colors, the first one in tag order wins. Tag order runs by group first, then by tag within that group.

• See the winning order - the Pin Colors card on Settings > Branding > Map shows a numbered list of pins in the order they apply: custom pin color, then every pin-color tag with its color and group, then the default pin color.
• Change the order - go to Settings > Tags > Advocate Tags and move a tag up or down within its group.
