Changing your contact information

You can update the phone number or email address a community uses to reach you. Your old, verified contact keeps working until the new one is confirmed, so you’re never out of touch mid-change.


How it works

  1. Update your phone number or email on the community site.
  2. We send a verification code to the new value.
  3. Until you enter that code, the community keeps reaching you at your current, verified contact — reminders and conversations don’t skip a beat.
  4. Once you verify the new value, it becomes your live contact.

If you change your mind before verifying, cancel the change and your old contact stays exactly as it was.


If the code doesn’t arrive

Double-check the digits and make sure you can receive texts (or email) at the new value, then request a new code. If texts from the community had stopped before, you may have opted out — see Why am I not getting texts anymore? to resume.


Whatever contact you use to sign in, your conversations are always available on the community site.
