Active Hours
Active hours are the window each day when your community is considered “awake.” Set them once, and Stoked holds the automated reminders that would otherwise land in the middle of the night, delivering them at the start of the next active window instead — always in each person’s own local time zone.
Why It Matters
A reminder that buzzes someone’s phone at 2am does more harm than good. Active hours make sure prospects and advocates only get nudged at a reasonable time of day, no matter where they live, without you having to think about time zones.
Setting Your Active Hours
- Go to Settings → General → Community.
- Scroll to the Active Hours card.
- Choose a Start (local time) and an End (local time) from the dropdowns.
- Click Update Active Hours.
The default window is 8am to 10pm. The start must be earlier than the end, and both are set on the hour.
Active hours are interpreted in each advocate’s (or prospect’s) own time zone — not yours. An 8am–10pm window means 8am–10pm wherever that person happens to be.
What Active Hours Affect
Overnight reminders wait until morning
When an automated reminder is due to someone whose local time is outside your active hours, Stoked doesn’t send it right then. It schedules the message for the start of your next active window in that person’s time zone:
- A reminder due at 2am goes out at 8am the same morning.
- A reminder due at 11pm goes out at 8am the next day.
This applies to the reminders Stoked sends on your behalf: introduction reminders to prospects and conversation reminders to both prospects and advocates.
See and cancel waiting messages
Anything held for the next active window appears under Settings → Messaging → Pending Deliveries. You can review what’s queued and Cancel a message before it goes out.
Fairer reply-speed measurement
The Reply Speed Report honors the same hours. Time that passes outside your active hours is left out of response-time calculations, so an advocate is never marked “slow” for replies that were really just overnight.
A Note on Time Zones
If an advocate or prospect doesn’t have a time zone set, Stoked can’t tell whether it’s the middle of their night, so their messages send right away instead of waiting. If overnight quiet time matters to you, make sure advocate time zones are filled in.
