Advocate Location Reminders

Some advocates don’t stay in one place: traveling ambassadors, snowbirds, riders on long tours. Location reminders keep their map pins current. On a schedule the advocate chooses, Stoked sends a text or email with a link. One tap moves their pin to the town they’re in.

Reminders are available in every community and are off until an advocate (or you) turns them on.

How advocates turn it on

New advocates see Travel a lot? Keep your map pin current in their getting-started checklist. Any advocate can also go to Edit Profile and use the Location reminders section to choose a frequency and whether to get texts or email.

Managing it for an advocate

  1. Go to Advocates and open the advocate
  2. Click Edit Details
  3. In Location reminders, choose a frequency and channel
  4. Click Update

The advocate isn’t notified of the change. Advocates can turn reminders off from their profile, and advocates paused through Time Away get no reminders.

The advocate’s details show Map pin: Updated 3 days ago · Reminders: Weekly, so you can see how fresh a pin is.

Frequencies by plan

Plan Frequencies
Basic Monthly, every 3 months, once a year
Pro and Enterprise Also daily, weekly, every 2 weeks

If your community moves to a plan without the faster options, advocates on them are reminded monthly until you switch back. Their saved choice isn’t changed.

Privacy

The advocate’s exact location is never stored. Stoked finds the town they’re in and puts the pin at a random spot about a mile from the town centre, the same offset new pins get. Their private address on file doesn’t change.

Delivery

Text reminders go out during your community’s active hours in the advocate’s time zone. If an advocate prefers texts but can’t receive them (no phone number, or they replied STOP), they get an email instead, as long as their email is verified. If neither works, no reminder is sent.
