Initiating Introductions

Create introductions to connect prospects with the right advocate. You can select an existing prospect or create a new one directly from the introduction form.


Starting an Introduction

  1. Click Initiate Introduction from the Conversations page
  2. Select a prospect and an advocate
  3. Optionally assign introduction tags
  4. Click Preview to review the introduction
  5. Click Send Introduction to notify the prospect

Selecting a Prospect

Existing Prospect

Choose from a dropdown of all prospects in your community. Each option shows the prospect’s name and phone number.

Creating a New Prospect

Toggle to Create new prospect to add someone directly from the form:

  1. Enter First Name (required)
  2. Enter Last Name (optional)
  3. Enter Phone Number (required)
  4. Enter Email Address (optional)
  5. Optionally assign Prospect Tags

The prospect is created and their phone number is automatically verified when you submit the form. No separate verification step is needed.

This is useful when you want to quickly introduce someone without navigating away to create a prospect record first.


Selecting an Advocate

The advocate dropdown shows all active advocates ordered by first name. Each option displays:

  • Display name from their profile
  • Location (if available, e.g., “in Oakland”)
  • Identifier (e.g., “ADV001”)

For example: Phil Anderson in Oakland (ADV001)

This helps you identify the right advocate when your community has multiple advocates in different areas.


Introduction Tags

Assign one or more tags to organize and categorize introductions. Tags can be managed in Settings > Close Reasons > Introduction Close Reasons.


What Happens After Sending

  • The prospect receives an SMS notification with a link to view the introduction
  • The introduction appears in your admin inbox with Pending status
  • Once the prospect views or engages, the status changes to Active
  • If a conversation starts between the same advocate and prospect, the introduction is automatically closed
