Searching Advocates
Find advocates quickly using the search bar, structured query syntax, status filters, and distance-based location search.
Basic Search
The search bar on the Advocates page matches against multiple fields at once. Type any of the following into the search bar to find matching advocates:
- Name - first name, last name, or full name
- Identifier - the advocate’s unique profile handle
- Phone number - full or partial phone number
- Email address - full address, domain, or username portion
- Bio and headline - text from the advocate’s profile description
Search is case-insensitive and includes fuzzy matching, so minor typos still return relevant results. Exact identifier matches are prioritized over other field matches.
Structured Query Syntax
You can combine filters directly in the search bar using a key:value format. Unqualified text is treated as a general search term.

location: |
Search near a zip code or place name | location:43065 |
distance: |

Wrap location values that contain spaces or commas in quotes:
location:"New York, NY".
Status Filtering
Use the Status dropdown to filter advocates by their current status. Available options are:
- Active - advocates who have completed onboarding
- Pending - advocates who have been invited but have not yet activated
- Inactive - advocates who have been deactivated
- All - show every advocate regardless of status
When no status filter is applied, the default view shows active and pending advocates.
You can also combine multiple statuses in the search bar: status:active, pending.
Distance-Based Search
To find advocates near a specific location:
- Type
location:followed by a zip code or place name in the search bar. - Optionally add
distance:followed by a number to set the radius in miles. - Press Enter to search.
The default search radius is 20 miles. Distance values are interpreted as miles by default. Results are sorted by proximity, with the closest advocates listed first.
Exporting Search Results
You can export your current search results to a CSV file. The export respects any active search and filter criteria.
- Apply your desired search terms and filters.
- Click the Export CSV dropdown in the top right corner.
- Select a format:
- Basic - name, contact info, location, status, and conversation count
- Profile - basic fields plus bio, headline, display settings, and profile links
- Wallet - name, contact info, and wallet balances
The downloaded file includes all matching advocates, not just the current page.
Pagination
Results are paginated with 25 advocates per page by default. Use the per page selector to switch between 25, 50, or 100 results per page. Navigate between pages using the Previous and Next controls.
