Explicit SMS consent on messaging forms
ImprovementWeek of June 1, 2026
Two SMS consent improvements shipped this week.
Prospect Send Message form (Text message channel)
When a prospect chooses to contact an advocate via text message, they now see an explicit opt-in checkbox instead of a static disclosure paragraph. The Send Message button stays faded until the box is checked — tapping it while unchecked shows a prompt to agree or switch to Email. Choosing Email skips the SMS consent step entirely.
Advocate join form
Communities that have both SMS and Email enabled no longer require advocates to opt into SMS to submit their application — they have an alternative contact channel. Communities with SMS as the only channel retain the existing required behavior.
No admin action required.
