Email login, verification, and conversation notifications

Advocates and prospects can now log in using their email address. Entering an email on the login form sends a 6-digit verification code — the same flow used for SMS phone login. This verifies the address and unlocks email-based notifications.

  • Email login — The login form on both the advocate portal and community site now accepts a phone number or email address.
  • Email verification code — A 6-digit code (valid 10 minutes) is sent to the email address on login, matching the existing SMS verification experience.
  • Conversation email notifications — When enabled, advocates receive an email each time a prospect messages them; prospects receive an email when an advocate replies. Only accounts with a verified email address receive these emails.
  • Admin controls — Conversation email notifications can be toggled on or off independently for advocates and prospects under SettingsEmail Notifications. Templates for the subject, header, and body text are fully editable with Liquid merge variables.
  • Email verification code template — The verification code email is also customizable under SettingsEmail NotificationsEmail Verification.

No admin action required to enable email login — it is available automatically. Conversation email notifications are opt-in per-community and default to off.
