Verification codes send on tap, and unsubscribed numbers get a way back in

Fix

Week of June 25, 2026

Phone verification is now more deliberate and more forgiving.

  • Codes send only when requested — opening a verification page no longer auto-texts a code. Visitors tap “Text me a code” (with a throttled Resend), so a parked or reloaded tab — for example an iPhone re-opening a bookmarked verify link — can’t quietly burn through your daily verification texts.
  • A way back for unsubscribed numbers — when someone has replied STOP, the page now tells them to reply START to start receiving texts again (and offers email verification when an address is on file) instead of sending a code their phone can never receive.
  • Applies everywhere codes are sent — conversation sign-in, the prospect profile, and advocate account phone changes.
