Advocates can now opt out of SMS
ImprovementWeek of June 27, 2026
SMS opt-out now covers advocates, not just prospects. Previously, when an advocate replied STOP their carrier stopped the texts but our system kept trying to send — wasting attempts and, in conversations, even forwarding the word “STOP” to the prospect as a message.
- STOP / START respected — an advocate who texts STOP is marked opted out and stops receiving SMS; texting START re-enables it.
- No more dead sends — welcome messages, notifications, and conversation relays are skipped for an opted-out advocate instead of failing against the carrier.
- Self-healing — if the carrier reports a number as unsubscribed on a send, we record the opt-out automatically so it isn’t retried.
