Turn AI summaries and suggested quick replies on or off

You can now choose which AI assistance Stoked uses on your community’s conversations. The new AI Assistance card is under Settings > Inbox, available to team members with the Can manage settings permission.

The card has two switches. Each one can be changed without affecting the other. Both are on by default, so nothing changes for your community unless you turn one off.

AI summaries

Covers AI summaries and sentiment.

Turning it off:

Stoked stops generating summaries and sentiment.
The AI summaries already written for your community’s conversations are permanently deleted.
The AI summary panel is hidden in the inbox and on the conversation page.

You are asked to confirm before the change takes effect.

Turning it back on: deleted summaries are not restored. A new summary appears for a conversation once it receives new messages, about ten minutes after the last message in a burst.

Suggested quick replies

Covers the suggestions Stoked makes about which of your saved quick replies fit a conversation.

Turning it off: Stoked stops suggesting quick replies and clears the current suggestions. Your saved quick replies are not affected and stay available in the quick reply menu.

Turning it back on: suggestions return as prospects send new messages.

Safety screening is separate

Automated safety screening of messages always stays on and is not affected by either switch.

In the API

While AI summaries are turned off, a conversation’s summary is null, the same as a conversation whose summary has not been generated yet. Deleting the summaries moves each affected conversation’s updated_at forward, so a sync using filter[updated_since] picks up the change on its next run. Right after AI summaries are turned off, every conversation that had a summary shows as updated once.

The suggested quick replies switch has no effect on the API.
